Transformations


If you move all the points on a geometric figure according to set rules you get a new geometric figure. We call the original figure the object and the new figure is called the image. The rule for obtaining the image from the object is the transformation. We can make very many different rules but some are more interesting than others. We shall study the following three kinds of transformations:
