Why join the IEEE?

The IEEE is the largest professional society in the world. On UTC Campus joining the IEEE Student Chapter provides you an opportunity

» to have access to the latest cutting edge technological advancements available in engineering today

Eligibility

The membership eligibility criteria are that one must be a registered undergraduate or graduate UTC Student who is currently enrolled in at least 50% of a normal, full-time course of study in electrical, electronics or computer engineering or computer sciences, or in an allied branch of engineering, engineering technology or the related arts and sciences.

What does it cost?

IEEE Student membership is highly subsidized. It includes all the benefits that a regular, full-paying member enjoys, at a fraction of the cost. Furthermore, if you join as a student, you will automatically be eligible for the reduced dues program from the moment you receive your first professional degree. First time applicants pay $15.00 for a period of 6 months. From then on yearly membership costs $30.00. In addition, you can join one of 36 technical societies for a small additional cost. How to join

Join the IEEE using the Online Membership Application. You can also download the student membership application and send it in via postal mail after getting authorized signature of the IEEE Student Chapter Advisor at UTC - Dr. Claire McCullough. Membership dues may be paid through credit cards, personal checks or money orders.
