Robert Avrett (1901-1975)

Biography

A native of Texas, Avrett taught at colleges in the Southwest and Argentina before settling at the University of Tennessee, where he taught from 1947 until his retirement. Avrett wrote poetry and non-fiction, and was the recipient of the Henry H. Bellaman Foundation award in 1960.
