Roark Bradford (1896-1948)
Biography
Badford was born in Lauderdale, Tennessee. He worked as a reporter for various
papers, ending up a the New Orleans Times-Picayune, before settling down to write fiction.
In 1927 he won an O. Henry Award for his short stories.
In 1942 Bradford joined the Navy, where he served until 1946.
