Marilyn Kallet (b. 1946)

Biography

Marilyn Kallet was born in Montgomery, Alabama, in 1946. She grew up in New York and attended school at Jackson College/Tufts University. Kallet received her MA and Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from Rutgers University. Her poetry has appeared in numerous literary magazines and reviews including New Letters, Now & Then, Denver Quarterly, and International Quarterly. Currently, Kallet is Director of the Creative Writing Program and English professor at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. She is the author of eight books, and is a former recipient of the Tennessee Arts Commission's Literary Fellowship in Poetry.
