Biography
Jeff Daniel Marion was born in Rogersville, Tennessee, in 1940. Currently he lives by the Holston River near Jefferson City, Tennessee. He teaches writing and is the poet-in-residence at Carson Newman College where he has worked for over twenty-five years. He is the author of four collections of poems, a children's book, and many articles in literary magazines. The recipient of various honors and awards for his poetry, he received a Literary Fellowship from the Tennessee Arts Commission in 1978, but even with national recognition he continues to write about his southern Appalachian roots.
